This fabulous unisex kid's magazine arrived today, and is ideal for those aged between 5 and 9ish. We think that both the stimulating imagery and design, and passion for words evident in the content make it a really refreshing alternative to what's currently available by way of kid's magazines. ANORAK is published quarterly, and has a unique format encompassing stories, art, culture, science and more, with childrens input encouraged throughout. So try it. We think you'll be rather pleased you did.

'SO WE BEAT ON, BOATS AGAINST THE CURRENT, BORNE BACK CEASELESSLY INTO THE PAST.........'

The Great Gatsby

The Big Wivenhoe Read went out with a bang on Saturday evening at the Great Gatsby Ball. It was simply divine to see what a prodigious effort everyone made with their beautiful 1920s outfits at the Great Gatsby Ball! Chilled wine and hot jazz were the order of the evening, and a convivial crowd shimmied and shook the evening away. Our thanks to Pete Jezard and The Blackwater Band for splendid music, and to John Wallett for invaluable techie help with the audio-visuals. Photographs can be viewed on the Book Launches and Events page.

The programme of Gatsby events including the panel discussion, history talk, and film screening, were all a tremendous success! Each venue was filled to capacity, and we would like to express our appreciation to all who came along and joined in. Thanks also to our speakers, Alan Cardew, Mike Harwood, Ann Clarke, and Hugh Brogan, and to Mike Downes of the Nottage Institute, and Alison and the staff at Wivenhoe Library, and Essex Libraries for all of their help and support.
